Prof. I. Levent SALTIK MD, graduated from Hacettepe University Medical School in 1982 in Ankara. He trained in pediatrics at the same University department of pediatrics. Then he obtained the specialty training degree in Pediatric Cardiology at the Istanbul University Institute of Cardiology in Istanbul from 1991 to 1995. This center was one of the only two centers where pediatric cardiac interventional treatment was performed in Istanbul until early 2000s, and it was the center that performed the most procedures.
In 2001, he moved to Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Medical School. Until 2020, he worked as the head of the cardiac catheterization laboratory in the pediatric cardiology department. He is one of the pioneers in pediatric cardiac interventional treatment in Turkey and he was the first to apply many interventional treatments. He has trained and/or proctored several interventional pediatric cardiologist in Turkey.
He is a founding member of some national societies and PICS. As Co-Chair, together with Dr. Sertaç Çiçek, he organized The World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology and Cardiac Surgery 2017, Barcelona. He is member of the Steering Committee of WCPCCS. He is currently working in Istanbul American Hospital.
